1 Introduction
Welcome to Music Marquee, developed by Tasty Cocoa Software LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
Our Commitment: Music Marquee is designed with privacy in mind. We do not operate backend servers to collect or store your personal data. Your music library, listening habits, and preferences stay on your device.
By using Music Marquee, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the app.
2 Information We Collect
Music Marquee collects minimal information necessary to provide its features. Here is what we access and why:
Information We Access Locally
- Apple Music Library Data: Your music library, playlists, recently played tracks, and playback state. This data is accessed through Apple's MusicKit framework and remains on your device.
- App Preferences: Your theme selections, widget configurations, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
Information Processed by Third-Party Services
- Subscription Data: When you subscribe to premium features, our subscription management partner RevenueCat processes device identifiers, Apple receipt files, and subscription status.
- Last.fm Data: If you enable scrobbling, your played track information is sent directly from your device to Last.fm.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Location data
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Crash reports (we do not use crash reporting SDKs)
3 Apple Music Integration
Music Marquee uses Apple's MusicKit framework to provide its core functionality as an Apple Music companion app.
What We Access
- Your Apple Music library and playlists
- Currently playing track information
- Playback state and controls
- Apple Music catalog for browsing and playback
- Apple Music radio stations
How This Data Is Used
- Displaying your music library within the app
- Powering home screen and lock screen widgets
- Enabling playback controls and now playing displays
- Sending track information to Last.fm for scrobbling (if enabled)
Important: All Apple Music data is processed locally on your device. We do not transmit your music library or listening history to our servers because we do not operate data collection servers.
Your Apple Music subscription and account are managed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your Apple ID credentials or payment information.
4 Last.fm Scrobbling
Music Marquee offers optional Last.fm integration to track your listening history on the Last.fm platform.
How Scrobbling Works
When you enable Last.fm scrobbling, the app sends information about tracks you play directly from your device to Last.fm's servers. This connection is made directly between your device and Last.fm without passing through any servers operated by us.
Information Sent to Last.fm
- Track name, artist, and album
- Timestamp of when the track was played
- Track duration
Authentication
You authenticate with Last.fm using their official OAuth process. We store only the authentication token required to submit scrobbles on your behalf. We do not have access to your Last.fm password.
Last.fm scrobbling is entirely optional. You can use Music Marquee without connecting a Last.fm account. If connected, you can disconnect at any time in the app settings.
For information about how Last.fm handles your data, please review Last.fm's Privacy Policy.
5 Third-Party Services
Music Marquee uses the following third-party services:
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Information collected by RevenueCat:
- Device type and operating system version
- Apple App Store receipt files (for purchase verification)
- Subscription status and purchase history
- Last seen timestamp
- Anonymous device identifiers
RevenueCat does not collect your name, email, or other personal contact information through our app. For more details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Last.fm
If you choose to enable scrobbling, your listening data is sent directly to Last.fm. See Section 4 above for details. Review Last.fm's Privacy Policy for information about their data practices.
Apple Music (via MusicKit)
Music Marquee accesses Apple Music through Apple's official MusicKit framework. Your Apple Music subscription is managed by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

The following data is stored locally on your device:
