How to Find New Music on Apple Music
Updated October 2, 2026 · Marquee Guides
Quick answer
Start with Apple Music’s New tab, which mixes editors’ playlists like New Music Daily with picks for you. For personal discovery, play your New Music Mix, refreshed every Friday, or Discovery Station, which only plays songs you haven’t heard. To catch new releases from artists you already listen to, Marquee’s Upcoming Releases reads your library and shows what’s out and what’s coming.
Apple Music adds a huge amount of new music every week, and it gives you several ways to find it. Some are made by Apple’s editors, some are made for you, and one is only for releases from artists you already like.
Here’s where to look, and what each one is good for.
The New tab
In iOS 18, Apple renamed the Browse tab to New. It’s the front page for new music on Apple Music: editors’ playlists like New Music Daily, the week’s new releases, and a personalized selection based on what you listen to. Open the Music app and tap New to see it.
New Music Mix, every Friday
New Music Mix is a personal playlist of recent songs Apple thinks you’ll like, based on your listening. It refreshes every Friday. Find it with your other mixes on the Home tab, or search for “New Music Mix.” Tap the add button to keep it in your library so the new edition is waiting each week.
Discovery Station
Discovery Station is a personal radio station made for finding music you haven’t heard. It plays a continuous stream based on your taste, and leaves out songs that are already in your library or playlists or that you’ve loved. It’s the best option when you want to press play and let Apple pick.
Does Apple Music have a Discover Weekly?
Not by that name. Spotify’s Discover Weekly is a personalized playlist that refreshes once a week. On Apple Music, the closest match is New Music Mix, which also refreshes weekly, on Fridays. For an endless version, use Discovery Station.
New releases from artists you already like
Playlists are good for discovery, but they’re easy to miss things in. If you want to know when an artist you already listen to puts out a new album, follow their releases directly.
