Cassette Player for Apple Music

A cassette music player for your Apple Music

Before playlists, there were mixtapes. Marquee’s Cassette style brings that look to the Now Playing screen: your music plays on a tape deck, and the spools wind as the song goes. It’s the same Apple Music library and catalog you already use, just with a player worth looking at.

On iPad, Cassette has its own landscape layout, like all eight of Marquee’s player styles.

Cassette reels on your home screen

Marquee’s animated cassette deck widget winds its reels as the tape plays and stops when your music pauses. The animation is drawn by the same system mechanism that renders the Home Screen clock, so it won’t drain your battery. It comes in every size, including extra-large on iOS 27. See the full set on the animated music widgets page.

Share a winding cassette

Tap the share button in the player and Marquee turns the current song into a story-ready video built around the album artwork — including a winding cassette. It goes to the share sheet, so it works with Instagram Stories and any app that accepts video. Sharing is free.

How to turn on the Cassette player

1. Download Marquee free from the App Store and allow access to Apple Music.
2. Go to the Customize tab and pick the Cassette player style. Styles beyond Classic are part of Marquee Pro, which starts with a free trial.
3. Play something and open Now Playing to watch the spools wind.
